About The Dragon Fruit Hub

The Dragon Fruit Hub is an independent reference site about one fruit and one fruit only: dragon fruit, also called pitaya. We cover every commercially grown variety, what each one tastes like, how to choose and cut one, what the nutrition actually looks like, and how to grow the plant yourself.

Why this site exists

Dragon fruit information online is scattered and repetitive. Search for something as basic as why is my dragon fruit flesh white instead of red and you get a dozen near-identical listicles that never answer the question. Growing advice is usually written for tropical climates and quietly fails for everyone else. Nutrition numbers get copied from site to site until nobody knows where they came from.

We built this site to be the page that actually answers the question. Every variety gets a real description instead of a stock photo caption, every growing step says what conditions it assumes, and every common question gets its own page rather than a single line buried in a long article.

What you will find here

  • Variety guides for white, red, yellow, purple and pink hybrid dragon fruit, including the botanical species, skin and flesh appearance, sweetness, season and availability.
  • A question-and-answer library covering the things people genuinely search for, from how to cut a dragon fruit to whether it suits a diabetic or weight-loss diet.
  • Growing and plant care guides for the home grower, covering cuttings, trellising, pollination, light and watering.
  • Nutrition and health information presented as general education, with the limits of that information stated plainly.

How we research and write

Our guides are written and edited by the small editorial team behind this site. We are enthusiasts and writers, not agronomists or clinicians, and we are direct about that distinction.

  • Botanical and cultivation details are checked against horticultural and agricultural extension sources rather than other blogs.
  • Nutrition figures are drawn from published food composition data. Values vary by variety and ripeness, so we describe them as typical ranges, not exact promises.
  • Health content is written as general information only. It is never a substitute for advice from a doctor or dietitian, and we say so on every page that touches it. See our Disclaimer.
  • Corrections matter to us. If you find something wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it and note the change.

How this site is funded

The Dragon Fruit Hub is free to read and is funded by advertising displayed through Google AdSense. Ads are clearly labelled and separated from our writing. Advertisers have no say in what we publish and no advance sight of it. What data advertising involves is set out in full in our Privacy Policy.
